Swinton Industrial Units

The site forms part of an existing small industrial estate located in Swinton, South Yorkshire. The design brief was to look at the existing industrial estate and the type of units already provided, assess the current market demands and the impact upon existing users of the site both during construction and post construction of the development.

From the initial brief and following discussions with various stake holders it was agreed to draw up plans for a self-contained development within the boundaries of the existing estate which would provide starter units for new start up business. Additional parking for the estate in general would also be provided to ease congestion eleswere on the site.

The units were simple design to reduce cost but overall to provide flexibility with the accommodation offering. The design allows tenants the opportunity to customise the layout of the unit easily and allows for the removal of any additional internal partitions when a tenancy comes to an end.
