Broomhill House
Our client owned a large detached house set within large grounds; they wished to remain in the area where they have lived for many years but in a smaller house. We were approached by them to see if it would be possible to obtain planning permission for a new dwelling within the grounds of their existing home. Over the years several of the adjacent properties have had similar developments carried out which posed a problem for this particular site. The minimum distances between opposing habitable rooms of different properties could not be achieved. To overcome this issue it was decided to create a new dwelling looking inwards around a central open court yard. This design approached proved to be acceptable and planning permission was granted. Works have started on site but the project is not yet completed.
